Theme: Building and Maintaining Resilient Multi-Disciplinary Teams and Organizations

While the collaborative, multidisciplinary response to child abuse has always been the heart and soul of the children's advocacy center (CAC) movement, the need to focus on and fortify multidisciplinary teams (MDT) has never been greater. This year's CACC Summit provided an opportunity for leaders across the state to explore strategies for strengthening and sustaining this core component of the CAC model and our teams.

Presented by: Cathy Crabtree, Consultant

Cathy is currently a consultant in Austin, Texas, is a former CAC and Chapter Director and the former Director of Chapter Development for NCA who has worked with hundreds of CACs and MDTs over the course of the past 25 years. PowerPoint Presentation

Presented by: Janet Fine, MS, Consultant / Training & Technical Assistance Provider / Adjunct Faculty the Project

Janet is the Director for Northeastern University's Vicarious Trauma Toolkit Project funded by OVC, and a Senior Consultant for Organizational Resilience International, LLC. PowerPoint Presentation


“The Economics of Child Abuse”
Presented by: Katie Albright, Chief Executive Officer

Katie is the Chief Executive Officer of Safe & Sound, a children's advocacy organization in San Francisco focused on strengthening families and ending child abuse.


“Strengthening Our California Legislation Efforts”
Presented by: Will Laird, State Government Affairs Officer

Will is the State Government Affairs Officer for the National Children's Alliance, which is the national membership and accrediting body for Children's Advocacy Centers.
