EMERGENCY COVID-19 FUNDING AVAILABLE FROM CACC

Children's Advocacy Centers of California, (CACC) a program of CALICO, is pleased to be able to offer funding to organizations serving abused children during this pandemic. The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services has released the Emergency Response to Interpersonal Violence – 2020 Pandemic (CO) Program which will provide approximately $6 million dollars to VALOR (formerly CALCASA), the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (the Partnership), and Children’s Advocacy Centers of California (CACC) to help combat the on-going impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on victim service providers. CO Program funds are intended to support the additional needs associated with providing safety and services for victims of interpersonal violence – domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse – resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Highlights:
  • No match funds required

  • Short application process

  • The minimum amount to apply for is $10,000. 

  • Organizations that have not received funds from the Emergency COVID Victim Services Response CO grant program prior may apply for up to $75,000.

  • Organizations that have received prior funds from the Emergency COVID Victim Services Response CO grant program prior may apply for up to $50,000.

  • If you have received funding in the previous round, you can apply for more funds if your organization did not receive the maximum amount. 

  • Applications will be accepted on a rolling, first come first served, basis

Eligible Applicants

501(c)(3) organizations, government agencies, and hospitals supporting the additional needs associated with providing safety and services for victims of child abuse during social distancing as a result of COVID-19. 

Organizations do NOT need to members of CACC to apply for this funding.

Grant Subaward Performance Period

January 1, 2021 – July 31, 2021.
Funds must support additional services needed to assist victims of child abuse due to COVID-19. 
Funds must be spent by July 31, 2021.  

Eligible Expenses for these Grants Include (but are not limited to):
  • Funds may cover the following direct victim services and/or technology needs (needed to serve victims remotely) for agencies:

  • Emergency shelter/housing

  • Emergency food/clothing/personal care items (including gift cards)

  • Utility assistance

  • Information Technology support

  • Laptops/Tablets

  • Cell phones

  • Cell service/data service

  • Video conferencing memberships

  • Audio/visual equipment

  • Hazard pay (local agency must have appropriate policies in place)

  • Other needs directly resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic (e.g. ppe, cleansing supplies, etc)

Funding Requirements

Once approved, the following documentation will be required in order to process the award:

  • CO Program Face Sheet

  • CO Program Certification Form

  • CO Program Budget Form

*Grantees will be required to submit invoices along with any additional documentation needed (receipts, estimates, general ledgers, functional time cards to name a few) to receive payment.

Reporting Requirements

There are at least four reports required with this grant* 
Progress Reports

  • First report: January 1, 2021 - June 30, 2021 reporting period is due on July 15, 2021

  • Second report: July 1, 2021 - July 31, 2021 reporting period is due on August 12, 2021

OVC Reports 

  • First report: January 1, 2021 - June 30, 2021 reporting period is due on July 2, 2021

  • Second report: July 1, 2021 - July 31, 2021 reporting period is due on August 31, 2021 

*Grant reports forms and instructions will be provided to the agencies approved. Additional reports may be required depending on types of activities funded.​

Timeline:

Approval and Subawards
Cal OES has directed CACC to award funds on a rolling basis. CACC must award funds on a first-come basis and may not prioritize agencies that hold a membership with the CACC. 
 
Applications available: July 20, 2021

Applications will be reviewed and awardees will be notified on a rolling basis. 
      
Grant term ends (all funds spent by): July 31, 2021
